Pizza Burgers

I got this recipe (if you can even call it a recipe) from my friend Callie. She has 4 crazy kiddos of whom are responsible for some of the greatest one-liners I've ever heard. Just sayin'. Have to give them a shout out.

Anyway...when I was a kid my mom used to make little English muffin pizzas. You know, split an English muffin, put sauce & cheese on them and pop them in the oven? Those ones. Well, English muffins aren't the cheapest things...and you know me, I'm cheap.  Now I do buy them, but it's not all the time and I usually reserve them for breakfast. So when Callie mentioned these little pizza burgers, I was intrigued.

I didn't take pics of the process...I should have though because I let my 3 year old do 90% of the work.
Here's how it went down:

Take a pkg of hamburger buns.
-
Split them and lay them on a cookie sheet.
-
Spread some marinara on each bun.
-
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on them.
-
Place your topping on each one....we did pepperoni.
-
Sprinkle some Italian Seasoning on top.
-
Pop them in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.

DONE.

These were almost too easy. I mean...my kid literally made them and I just put them in the oven.

They were SOOOOOOOOO good. Really good.  Did I mention that they were GOOD?
I don't know. Maybe I was just starving...or overjoyed at the fact that I didn't have to make dinner.
I choose to believe that they were just rockin' good....it's the simple things in life. Like pizza on a hamburger bun.

My cooker man (as he calls himself)

BTW....this meal cost me all of $5.50.

  2. I totally do that, Leslie!! :)

I've also made spaghetti hot dogs before. You cook up the spaghetti & toss it with marinara. Then you make garlic bread w/ the buns. Spoon the spaghetti into the buns and you're good to go!
