Dear Mr. Yoshida....I love you.

OK, so I've had a package of chicken drumsticks in the freezer for about 6 weeks now. I love chicken. I love to BBQ chicken, but for some reason I just couldn't work up the desire to eat these dang things.
Sad.

BUT...I recently discover this ahhhhmazing bottle of goodness called
Mr. Yoshida's Marinade & Cooking Sauce. It's at Costco..not sure where else.

Oh. My. Gosh.

It's pretty much a teriyaki sauce, but not. I don't know what to call it other than delightful. So anyway, on the bottle it says to mix 1/2 cup of it with 3 Tbsps of peanut butter and you'll magically have a Thai peanut sauce. So I did. And I am SO glad that I did.

For dinner last night I made the drumsticks. Salt & peppered them and threw them on the grill for about 25 minutes. The last 5-8ish minutes I slathered them in the peanut concoction. Then I sauteed up some zucchini, yellow squash & garlic in a little more of the sauce. Added some brown rice to the plates and it was ready.

Nothing crazy. The flavor was SO dang good though. It was a nice detour from the old BBQ sauced up grilled chicken.

If you can find the sauce, GET it.

  1. We used to use this often! I'd forgotten about Mr. Yosida's! I've taken to making my own teriyaki, but I'll have to get this and go for it again!

  2. We've been loving this sauce since the 80's when Sam's Club carried it. I went almost 10 LONG years without. When I saw it at Costco last month, I may have screamed aloud! Thanks for reviewing this recipe, can't wait to try!
